 Architecture

The following diagram shows the architecture of the Prophix Data Integration Service:

DIS Controllers

The DIS Controller is an app that links your Prophix applications and your on-premise server, enabling them to communicate with each other through the  agents that you create and manage in Data Integration.

The DIS Controller can be hosted either in the Cloud or on-premises.

To get the Controller app you contact Prophix Support.

Installing the controller is a prerequisite for setting up a data integration service.

Deployments

This section describes the various deployment scenarios currently available, which are as follows:

• Standard deployment
• Cloud-hosted deployment

 

  Note:  On-Premises DIS means you are hosting the DIS controller. Cloud DIS means Prophix is hosting the DIS controller.

Standard deployment

The standard deployment scenario is a single on-premises DIS controller tied to one customer instance:

Cloud hosted deployment

You may be using a Cloud DIS controller shared among Prophix customers within your home region to comply with data-residency requirements. For example:

• In this scenario, the Prophix Cloud Operations team creates a Site for each customer, thereby restricting data access among customers.

• This configuration requires you only use cloud data sources that Prophix applications can connect to.
